Remembering Firefighter/Paramedic Ryan Milligan, honoring his service, and standing with his loved ones.
COURAGE SERVICE NEVER FORGOTTEN
His watch has ended. Our promise to remember him never will.
01 / THE MAN BEHIND THE UNIFORM
More than a hero.
A life that mattered.
On November 2, 2026, Ryan Milligan lost his life in the line of duty while responding to a house fire in Broadview Heights, Ohio.
Ryan joined the North Royalton Fire Department in 2016. He dedicated his work to helping others as a firefighter and paramedic, answering calls on days when people needed someone most.
Yet a life can never be measured by a uniform or years of service alone. Ryan was a person loved and known beyond the firehouse. The memories carried by his family, friends, and fellow firefighters are part of the legacy this page is here to protect.
We cannot change this loss. We can keep speaking his name, sharing stories, and standing beside those who loved him.

A PRAYER OF SERVICE & SACRIFICE
The Firefighter’s Prayer
For those who find comfort in these words, a prayer shared across generations of the fire service.
READ THE FIREFIGHTER’S PRAYER
When I am called to duty, God, wherever flames may rage,
Give me strength to save a life, whatever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child before it’s too late,
Or save an older person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout,
And quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me,
To guard my neighbor and protect his property.
And if according to Your will I have to answer death’s call,
Bless with Your protecting hand my family, one and all.
A traditional prayer from the fire service.
FOREVER REMEMBERED
Your final alarm.
Our forever promise.
To Ryan’s family: We cannot begin to measure your loss. But we hope these words, these acts of generosity, and the love of an entire community remind you that Ryan’s life mattered deeply—and that his memory will endure.
To our brother Ryan: Thank you for answering the call. Thank you for your service. We will remember.
We’ll take it from here, brother.
